• This a talk given by Dan Adkins of the nsf Office for Cyberinfrastructure. It's about a review of e-science in the UK.

    The video is over here. It's important because:

    1. He talks about the need to look at e-infrastructure (cyberinfrastructure in the US) in the international prespective. More coordinated international collaborations are necessary.

    2. (About two thirds of the way through) Just after the first of his 12 Recommendations, he presents a matrix which splits between Specific and Shared/Generic Infrastructure and Research. Obviously GP is in the lower two quadrants. What we are trying to find out is where the join between the two might offer utility to each.
